In case opening an app and tapping “clean” was too much work, you can now activate your robot vacuum by voice. Neato Robotics, the company behind the Botvac series of robot cleaners, announced an integration with Google Assistant, the voice inside the Google Home smart home device.
Botvac owners who have a Google Home will be able to tap into the latest feature starting today. Rather than jumping through hoops navigating Botvac’s buttons or app, users can simply shout “Ok Google, tell Neato robot to start cleaning” and the robot vacuum will slave away.
The voice-powered setup is completely hands-free. As an added bonus, Botvac owners can ask the Google Assistant for their bot’s battery life and physical location. Currently, the integration works with existing Botvac Connected models, including the new affordable Botvac D3
